Sunday, July 20, 2-4 p.m. Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 127 S. Mission "Pipes, Camera, Action!" Silent movies with Brad Miller on pipe organ Veteran pipe organist Brad Miller will return for an afternoon of silent films, popcorn and organ music. Before moving to Spokane, Miller played the historic Liberty Theater Pipe Organ for many events at the museum. The afternoon will begin with two short silent comedies, one featuring Charlie Chaplin and the other starring Laurel & Hardy. The main feature will be the 1925 classic, "Phantom of the Opera," starring Lon Chaney. It is the story of a disfigured composer living beneath the Paris Opera House who seeks love with a lovely young singer. Miller will accompany the onscreen action on the 1919 Wurlitzer and will give a brief demonstration of the organ’s capabilities. Admission to "Pipes, Camera, Action!" is $12 for adults and $8 for children and museum members. Tickets may be reserved by calling 888-6240. |
